100

AGE AIN'T NOTHING BUT A NUMBER
DATE: Saturday, April 20, 2013
LOCATION: Cacador

Today's agenda was straight forward, attend a church and go to local Rotarians 100th birthday party which was  all in rolled into one event. Ernesto Faoro was born in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, to Italian immigrants in 1913. At age 17, him and his family moved to Cacador. In 1948, along with 37 other friends, he founded the Rotary club in Cacador. Since then he has served as club president several times and has received numerous awards for his acts of service. The church service and subsequent birthday party was set up to honor his legacy. Tons of family members from all over and friends from the Cacador community came out to show their support. The event was packed with food. We actually ate lunch and early dinner (a.k.a "cafe") and the function. After the event, all of us had down time to unwind.
